About us
What is a collective?
A collective is something done by individuals acting as a group.
This perfectly sums up what a choir is; wonderfully unique individuals who work towards the same goal of singing together.
These choirs are for those who think they can sing and those who have been told they can’t. It is a safe space to have a go at singing in a choir, to create meaningful friendships, to grow in confidence and to develop your musical ability.
Our rehearsals are different. You don’t just turn up, sing and go home.
Gospel Collective is rooted in fellowship. In every rehearsal, we provide a meal and a refreshment break. This allows plenty of time to get to know your fellow singers and be more than ‘just a voice’ in the choir.
Each rehearsal has these elements.
• Dinner • Sing 1 • Refreshments • Sing 2 •
Our rehearsals are long; 3 hours including dinner.
We meet fortnightly which allows flexibility in the rest of what is an inevitably busy schedule. Child care is easier to manage fortnightly and the breaks allow members to meet externally to practice.
